Beauty Basics: 4 Ways To Line Your Eyes

Ellana Beauty Basics: Eyeliner in 4 Ways

Even though face masks have become a part of our everyday look, that doesn’t mean that we have to stop looking our best and most radiant. Look at it this way: This time, you get to highlight your eyes and make them stand out. Between our new Multipurpose Color Creams and Life-Proof Brow collection, there are a lot of ways that you can experiment and keep your eye makeup game strong!

For starters, did you know that you can use our Life-Proof Brow Gel as an eyeliner? That’s right! It’s one of the most loved multipurpose makeup formulas at Ellana, and using it as an eyeliner is just one of the hacks that you can do with it. If you’re looking for eyeliner ideas, here are 4 different ways that you can try:

Natural Eyeliner

Perfect for: Defining your eyes and achieving an everyday, subtle makeup look

Ellana Beauty Basics: Natural Eyeliner

How to do it:

  1. Take your Life-Proof Brow Brush and dip the angled end into your Life-Proof Eyebrow Gel.
  2. Using the angled end, outline your upper lash line in small and short strokes. Make sure that the line doesn’t get too thick to maintain that natural look.
  3. Nestle in and fill in the parts between your eyelashes to make sure that there’s no “unlined” spot. Done!

Basic Winged Liner

Perfect for: Adding drama to your eye makeup and enhancing your eye shape

Ellana Beauty Basics: Basic Winged Liner

How to do it:

  1. Take your Life-Proof Brow Brush and dip the angled end into your Life-Proof Eyebrow Gel. Make sure that there’s enough gel on your brush for a smooth glide.
  2. Draw a line from the outer corner of your eye, following the curve of your lower lash line. The length depends on how dramatic you want your wing to be.
  3. Outline your upper eyelid, starting from the tear duct (inner corner of your eye) and working your way outwards to the end of the lower line from Step #2. This should create a triangle-looking shape that forms as your “wing.” (Pro-tip: Pull your eyelid from the corner slightly to flatten the skin and ensure a smooth glide.)
  4. With your eyebrow gel, fill in the spaces between the outer point of the wing and your upper lash line to finish off the wing.
  5. For a shimmery look, you can apply our Loose Multipurpose Pigments along your tear ducts as a finishing touch to your eye makeup.

Cat Eye Liner

Perfect for: Achieving a softer, more subtle winged look

Ellana Beauty Basics: Cat Eye
How to do it:

  1. Take your Life-Proof Brow Brush and dip the angled end into your Life-Proof Eyebrow Gel.
  2. Draw a short line from the outer corner of your eye in an upward direction. If it’s easier, you can draw downwards, instead, starting from the area above your eye where you want your flick to start. With the cat eye, it doesn’t have to be as long as a winged eyeliner, so make sure to not go over the top.
  3. Connect the top of your flick to your upper lash line to create a triangle.
  4. Fill in the triangle with eyebrow gel.
  5. Connect the triangle to your entire lash line and inner corner of your eye, as you normally would when applying eyeliner. Apply it thicker when you’re going from the triangle to your lash line. Then, go thinner as you line towards the inner corner.

Graphic Arrow Liner

Perfect for: Making a bold beauty statement and adding an extra edge to your look

Ellana Beauty Basics: Graphic Arrow Liner

How to do it:

  1. As preparation, put a one-inch tape along your bottom lashes, starting from the outer corner of your eye and angling towards your temple.
  2. Take your Life-Proof Brow Brush and dip the angled end into your Life-Proof Eyebrow Gel.
  3. Using the angled end of the brush, draw along the tape to build a line and start creating the wing.
  4. Draw along your upper lash line from the inner eye outwards to finish the wing. When you’re drawing along the tape, make sure to keep it thinner towards the end.
  5. For the arrow, draw a line from the middle of the brow bone down to the tip of the wing.
  6. Once the gel has settled, gently remove the tape to reveal your graphic arrow line.
  7. To highlight it even more, you can apply our Loose Multipurpose Pigments on the inner corner of your eyelids.

Now that you know four ways to line your eyes, all you have to do is decide which look you’re going for today: Is it the natural, winged, cat eye, or graphic arrow eyeliner? Whatever you choose, always remember the most important part: Have fun doing it while playing with the rest of Ellana’s colorful eye makeup!
